When Hensel Phelps needed to furnish their new Broomfield office space, they came to us for a cohesive package outfitting conference rooms, offices, hallways and outdoor spaces. We collaborated with members of their team and the designers at Open Studio to design and fabricate a dozen pieces for their space utilizing local, urban trees milled and dried at our Globeville shop.
The centerpiece: a 33' Honey Locust Conference Table

Siberian elm conference table and credenza
A second conference table uses bookmatched "yin/yang" Siberian elm slabs, milled and dried by us. It features a laser-cut steel frame built to house power modules, black resin-filled voids, and a powder-coat finish for durability in daily office use. The black dye-stained credenza uses a third slab from the same tree for its doors. Special shout out to our friends at Sanko Custom Cabinetry who assisted with the credenza fabrication (as well as one in walnut) in order to help us meet our deadline.
VP Office Furniture
For the VP's private office, we built a matching conference table, standing desk, and shelving — all from local white oak we milled and dried in-house, giving the space a cohesive material story from floor to ceiling.
Hallway Pieces
Lining the hallway outside the large conference room is a statement piece for the hallway: two local, bookmatched Siberian elm slabs selected specifically for their wild figuring, paired with boxed-out steel legs for a clean, modern look. Our clients requested that we use remnant material from all the various projects to design a coffee table for the entry. This simple, streamlined piece is made from leftover material in walnut, elm and oak.
What We Do Best
This project highlights what we do best, and differently from most other custom shops. Controlling the full process from the milling of the local material to design and fabrication gives us the opportunity to provide unique pieces that perfectly fit our clients' spaces and vision.
